Segway company owner rides one off cliff to his death

The owner of the Segway Company Jimi Heselden, has died when he is riding his two-wheeled machine.and his machine off a clif and into the river.according to the British press reports.In 1999 a American inventor started the new hampshire firm.

The multi-millionaire businessman, 62, fell into the River Wharfe while inspecting the grounds of his North Yorkshire estate on a rugged country version of the Segway.

Hesco Bastion, the company of which Heselden was chairman, confirmed Heselden's death in a statement given to the BBC. "It is with great sadness that we have to confirm that Jimi Heselden OBE, has died in a tragic accident near his home in West Yorkshire," said the Hesco Bastion spokesperson

The wire cage systems developed by Bastions have become standard military equipment for Nato as well as American and British forces. The Segway operation was acquired by a UK based company backed by Heselden.
